My favorite charity is not on the list, how can I donate a gift card to them?
We just launched Gift Card Donor and are in the process of signing other charities.  Please recommend your favorite charity so we can ask them to join our list.  Recommend Now   

Our charity would like to be listed on your site, how do we get started?
If your charity is already a 501(c) organization, please submit the form on the Recommend page to be considered for our list.

I’m from a different state not registered by Gift Card Donor, can I still donate?
Not at this time – state laws do not allow us to accept donations from your state until we are registered.  Please check back periodically to see when your state has been added.  More details

Why does the charity only get 75%?
75% is the “minimum” percent of revenue from reselling the donated cards that goes to the charity.  We provide the net proceeds after all expenses of reselling the gift cards on  GiftCardsAgain.com.  Help us and the charities by telling your friends about both sites!

Can I split my gift card funds between two charities?
You can donate one gift card per charity and unfortunately cannot split the balance between charities.  Some retailers allow you to buy gift cards with a gift card, so you may be able to split a larger card this way before donating.

Can I deduct my gift card donation?
Yes – your donation is to the charity so you are eligible to deduct the fair market value of the gift card from your federal tax return.  Consult your tax advisor regarding eligibility.  Once the cards arrive and are verified you will receive an official email receipt with the fair market value of your donation listed for each charity.

Is there any limit to the balance on the gift cards you will accept?
No – you may donate gift cards of any value.  Please verify the balance before mailing to ensure it is not $0.

How do I verify the amount on my gift card?
Call the toll-free number or visit the website listed on the back of the gift card to verify the balance.  You will be asked to enter your gift card number, so have your card available.  You may need to scratch off a pin number for some companies.

Why does my card have less on it now then when I received it last year?
Many companies have “dormancy rules” where they deduct fees from the gift card balance after a period of time.  See the back of the card for details.

What is the Fair Market Value?
Fair market value is the amount you can deduct from your federal income tax return, if you are eligible (please consult your tax advisor).  You will receive an official receipt with the final value once we receive the cards and verify the values.

I have a gift card from a company that is not on your list, can I still donate it?
Sure - the bottom of the Card List contains a form where you can add your company.

Are there any types of cards you will not accept?
We prefer gift cards, store credits, merchandise credits, or return cards.  We also accept paper gift certificates, virtual gift cards, or e-gift cards.  We do not accept promotional gift cards --- ones with an expiration date and sometimes a minimum purchase requirement from the store.

Is it safe to mail my cards?
In our opinion, the safest way to mail your gift cards is through the US Post Office.  If you are mailing more than three (3) cards, please use a strong envelope.

How do I know if you have received the cards?
Log in and click MyAccount to see the status of your current order plus your order history.

Can I donate anonymously?
We recommend that you sign up and create an order so we can easily assign your gift cards to your favorite charity.  However, if you wish to donate anonymously, please mail your card with a note designating the charity to:

What is this about saving up to 20% off my shopping?
Visit our companion site GiftCardsAgain.com to buy gift cards to your favorite places for up to 20% off and then use them for your everyday shopping!  You save money and the charities receive at least 75% of the donated value.  It can’t get any better than this!

Can I use my Gift Cards Again account to log into Gift Card Donor?
Yes - you can manage your gift card donating, buying and selling with one account that works on our companion sites.  You will need to log into each site separately though.
